Credits from Online Courses
| Do I get the same credit? | Yes. The credits for online courses are the same as for on-campus courses. |
| Will credits from an online course transfer? | Clemson is a regionally accredited university. However, the college or university receiving transfer credit sets policies regarding transfer, so check with the school you wish to transfer credit to prior to registering for a course. For information regarding whether courses from other universities and colleges will transfer to Clemson review the Transfer Evaluation Equivalency Information for additional information regarding the transfer of credits. |

| How do I login to my course? | Online courses are often taught through MyCLE. To access MyCLE, go to http://bb.clemson.edu or go to http://ccit.clemson.edu and click on the MyCLE link in the top right corner of the screen. Your User ID is a code usually made up of a combination of letters from your first and last names. To find yours, you can:
Your Password is initially set as the last 4 digits of your social security number. You need to reset this to a password only you know. If you experience problems with your password or forget your password, contact the Help Desk at (864)656-3494. To change your password, complete the Password Change Utility form. You should choose a new password that is numeric (numbers-only), composed of at least 5 but no more than 8 digits.

| What is the availability of academic support services, such as counseling, advising, tutoring and placement? | Each department has their own advisors. They will meet with you online or communicate with you via e-mail or phone for advising sessions. The Academic Success Center provides online learning for academic success. They offer a library of online videos that contain learning and study strategies. Student Disability Services is part of the Academic Success Center as well. Student Disability Services coordinates the provision of reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities. All reasonable accommodations are individualized, flexible, and confidential based on the nature of the disability and the academic environment. | Can I enroll in a course without being admitted to the university? | No. You must be a Clemson University student to be able to register for classes. |
| What online or distance education programs are offered at Clemson University? | We offer several fully online degree programs. To learn more about these programs, please review the Programs Available. Please note that some online programs require an onsite orientation at the beginning. There are also onsite degree programs that offer online courses, but cannot be completed fully online. Please see the faq below regarding courses that are offered online. |

Please be sure to pay attention to the footnotes, as some of these classes span over Maymester, Summer I and Summer II. |

| Are distance education courses self paced? | Some of our distance education courses do meet during scheduled time periods like face to face classes. Instead of meeting in person on campus, they meet live via the internet. Please be sure to look at the Footnotes in the Schedule of Classes to determine if the class you are registering for has scheduled meeting dates & times. Contact the instructor if you are unsure. |
| I have heard courses offered via distance education are easy is that true? | A common misconception of distance education courses is that they are easier. The truth of the matter is that learning from a distance requires students to be a lot more focused. It can in some cases require more time than that of a traditional face to face. Before you enroll in one of our distance education classes we encourage you to complete the SORT (Student Online Readiness Tool) that was created by the University System of Georgia. This will help you in determining if you are prepared for taking classes online. |

Textbooks and Course Materials
An instructor is not listed for my online course. How will I know who my instructor is? I may want to call or email him or her with additional questions. |
Sometimes an instructor may not have been assigned by the department yet. They will probably be assigned at a later date sometime before the start date of the class. You can call the department and they may be able to tell you. |
| How do I get my textbooks and other course materials? | Textbooks can be purchase online through the university bookstore. All other course materials will be provided through MyCLE by your instructor. |
| What access to library materials and databases is provided? | Distance education students have access to all of the same materials that students on campus have. Reserve materials are made available through MyCLE in the eReserves area. Students can search multiple databases online and even view some full text articles online. Students can check out books and the library will mail them to them. They can renew the books online. Students can work with reference and subject librarians over the phone, via e-mail or by chatting with them online during normal business hours. |
| Is all required software provided? | No. The Computer Center will provide you with a suite of software applications like Netscape, Eudora (email), Telnet, TN3270, FTP, etc. These are available to you at no additional charge as a member of the Clemson University student body.
Additional software may be required by your instructor. We try to provide access to all of the required software free of charge to students. In the case that students have to pay we do our best to make the fees minimal. |

| Is financial aid available for distance education students? | Students may apply for student loans as long as they are degree seeking. Visit the Clemson University Financial Aid web site or call (864)656-2280 to find out more about financial aid opportunities that might be available to you. |
| Where do I go to view my class schedule, grades, financial aid, university account, unofficial transcript, degree progress report, optional fee items, update my address, make credit card payments, and more? | This can all be done through TigerWeb. You will need your username and password to access this website. |
| How do I pay my tuition? | Payments for tuition and fees should be sent or delivered to: Bursar's Office View the Payment Due Dates page to view the deadlines by semester for mail-in, welk-in, and credit card payments. Tiger Line (864-656-8447) or TIGERWEB (tigerweb.clemson.edu) must be used to pay by credit card. A $45 convenience fee is charged for VISA transactions and a fee of 2% of the total tuition and fees is charged for MasterCard and Discover. |
