Pedagogy must drive the technology that faculty and students use in their teaching and learning. One of the best ways to explore the possibilities of integrating technology is for an instructor to envision how students can best learn a course objective – as if there were no constraints. Then through discussion with program staff and often other faculty in a laptop or tablet pedagogy community, the instructor can elaborate and refine the vision. Oftentimes, a faculty member’s vision can be realized, at least partially, through technology. We are always pleased to help faculty realize a big or little dream of enhancing their teaching and their students’ learning through technology.
Laptop and Tablet PC Pedagogy Communities meet once a week for an hour in B103 Barre Hall to brainstorm ideas, refine assignments, collaborate on a publication or presentation, offer friendly support in exploration of teaching with technology and more. Any faculty member interested in joining or forming a community (interdisciplinary or discipline-specific) can make this request by contacting Barbara Weaver at 650-8238 or weaver2@clemson.edu.
