Wireless network access is available in many areas on campus and we continue to expand coverage areas. Clemson's wireless network provides coverage for both 802.11G (compatible with 802.11b) and 802.11A wireless clients.
When using the wireless network there are some items to keep in mind when considering wireless access.
- CCIT Network Services is deploying wireless access points in many areas on campus. In order to maintain a reliable network we ask that departments, colleges, institutes, students, or research centers not purchase or install access points.
- If you are purchasing a laptop consider the Laptop Program recommended platform with the internal wireless adapter.
- If you already have a laptop, purchase the wireless adapters that support the Cisco Compatible Extensions. There are wireless cards available on campus at the CCIT Support Center.
- If you have questions about wireless network access or would like to discuss plans your college or departments may have, you can contact Client Support or Network Services.
