Eduroam fast roaming feature coming September 21

September 12, 2022
On September 21, 2022, CCIT will be implementing a fast transition roaming feature on eduroam.
What’s happening?
This change will improve the speed at which your devices reconnect to new access points as you move across your campus or area. This change also has the added benefit of reducing the overall load on our wireless infrastructure, so even your initial connections may be processed faster.
What does this mean for you?
The only downside of this change is some older devices may not support this feature and may experience connectivity issues after the change. We estimate this should affect less than 100 of the 30,000+ devices connected to eduroam at any time. If you experience issues after September 21 and believe your device may not support the fast roaming feature, please reach out to CCIT Support and we will work with you to find a solution. You can contact the CCIT Support Center by email at ithelp@clemson.edu, phone/text at (864) 656-3494, chat at support.clemson.edu, or by visiting us on the second floor of Cooper Library.
