Microsoft Exchange authentication change coming September 6, 2022

Ryan Real, CCIT Communications

Clemson University is improving the security of your Microsoft Exchange login process. As a result, beginning September 6, your mobile device may display repeated prompts to enter your password or an error message that reads “Your email access has been blocked.”

Outlook and Exchange Mobile Apps should not be affected by this change. If you are using Apple Mail, Google Mail, or other third-party mail applications to access your Clemson email account, please be aware that your email settings may need to be adjusted on September 6.

If you receive repeated password prompts or an error message, the most effective solution is to delete/forget your email account on your device and re-add it. For instructions, please visit:

If deleting and re-adding your account does not work, please make sure that your mobile device operating system (OS) is up-to-date and then try again.

In the meantime, you can always check your mail at 365.clemson.edu or on your desktop mail client. Once your account has been re-added to the device, you should be able to log in successfully.

CCIT has already contacted system owners of services we believe might be impacted by this change. If you have a system or service using email that is no longer functioning, please reach out to ITHELP@clemson.edu.
