Cyberinfrastructure Technology Integration (CITI)

Cyberinfrastructure Technology Integration (CITI) is the group within the CCIT Organization that provides cyberinfrastructure resources and advanced research computing capabilities.

Our Philosopy

Cyberinfrastructure (CI) is more than just connecting people using advanced networks and sophisticated applications.  CI is about engaging participants in the generation of knowledge.  It is about creating opportunities for participants to share expertise, tools, and facilities in powerful ways that offer the potential to significantly advance discovery.

Our Services

We support an advanced knowledge infrastructure made possible through integration of high-performance computing, high-performance networks, data visualization, storage architectures, and middleware.

Our support team comprises a well-established, highly successful group of faculty and technical staff with an international reputation for leading research in areas such as high-performance computing, high-throughput computing, high-performance networking, data access/storage and interpretation, visualization, and software environments for cyber-enabled communities.

We support users of Clemson University’s Palmetto cluster (a 21,392-core 500+ teraFLOPS HPC system).

We also support a campus network linking over 1200 machines distributed across 27 locations on campus providing a high-throughput computing resource for all faculty and students in need of a loosely coupled computer system to run thousands of jobs.

The CITI group plays an active role in Clemson University’s member activities with the Open Science Grid (OSG) and the InCommon Federation.
