COMSOL Multiphysics is the platform for your physics-based simulations. Consisting of a number of add-on products that augment your modeling workflow, you can expand your understanding, optimization and verification of your designs and processes.
Note: There are a limited number of seats and usage for COMSOL is typically very high towards the end of a semester, so if you are unable to check out a license for COMSOL, it is often because all licenses are currently in use. Try to check out a license periodically throughout the day. A license should become available to you eventually. During high-use periods, you may find it advantageous to schedule your COMSOL jobs for the morning or night.
License Information
This product is generally distributed as a floating network license. This means there may be a limited number of seats of this software available and that users must connect to an on-campus license server to use the software.
Versions of this software are available on: Windows, Mac OS, Linux, the Palmetto Cluster. You may have to check with the vendor about the availability of other versions.
Other Restrictions
This software may only be installed/used by students and faculty in the College of Engineering and Science. There are separate teaching and research licenses of Comsol available.License server: license4.clemson.edu Port: 28016
If you cannot enter license server name and port separately in the application, you may need to enter them in the format: port@server.

Licenses for this software are available without purchase if you meet any license restrictions.
Install Media - How to Access COMSOL Multiphysics
Direct access to the media for this software on the Software Repository is limited to IT support personnel. If you need to request this software be installed on your computer, you can visit the nearest helpdesk (the CCIT Helpdesk on the 2nd floor of Cooper Library or the Engineering Support Desk in 142 Freeman Hall), contact your local IT support, or email ithelp@clemson.edu.
