Azure Dev Tools for Teaching

Vendor Microsoft

Azure Dev Tools for Teaching (formerly known as Microsoft Dreamspark or Microsoft Imagine) is a Microsoft Program that supports technical education by providing access to Microsoft software for teaching purposes. It's all about giving students Microsoft professional-level developer and designer tools at no cost so that students can chase their dreams and create the next big breakthrough in technology - or just get a head start on their career.

Available software includes: Project, Visio, Visual Studio, Team Explorer, Expression Studio, Kinect, Kodu Game Lab, SQL Server, Windows Server operating systems, Virtual PC, and OneNote.

Special editions of Windows operating systems can be requested/obtained with a Azure Dev Tools for Teaching account.

This type of software used to be only available to students and faculty in STEM programs. However, that restriction is no longer the case and any student or faculty member can download and install the software provided that it will be used for purposes of teaching.

Please also note that any software downloaded through Azure is licensed individually, and will NOT be part of your Office 365 login.

Students can follow these steps in order to access the portal and download the Software:

- Step 1: Go to https://aka.ms/devtoolsforteaching (copy and paste the link in the browser)
