Secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. Eduroam allows students, researchers and staff from participating institutions to obtain Internet connectivity across home campuses and when visiting other participating institutions by simply opening their laptop or having the network ID on their mobile device.

This product is generally distributed as a freeware / public license. This means the software is free for anyone to download and use.

Versions of this software are available on: Windows, Mac OS, Linux. You may have to check with the vendor about the availability of other versions.

Install Media - How to Access eduroam

Installing On Windows

  • Option 1: Students can download and install CCIT Software Center here. eduroam will be available in the list of installable applications once CCIT Software Center is installed and has initialized. Note: The initialization process can take some time and will continue in the background once CCIT Software Center is launched. Applications will show up in the list of available software as this background initialization proceeds.
  • Option 2: All users can open Windows Explorer (My Computer) and copy \\software.clemson.edu\software\eduroam into the address bar. If prompted for a username and password, try "campus\username" (no quotes; note the backslash), where username is your Clemson University username. Use your Clemson password. Once connected, check the Documentation folder for additional installation information, like license server names and port numbers. Note: If you are off campus, you will have to be logged into VPN before you will be able to connect to the Software Repository.

Installing On Mac OS

  • Option 1: Download and run the Mac Software Installer here (click the "Mac Software" button on the left-hand side of the page). eduroam will be in the list of available software in the installer.
  • Option 2: Use an SMB mount by clicking on Finder → Go → Connect to Server... and copying smb://software.clemson.edu/software/eduroam into the Server Address field. If prompted for a username and password, use your Clemson University username and password.

Installing On Linux/Unix

  • Option 1: Use an SMB mount to //software.clemson.edu/software/eduroam. If prompted for a username and password, use your Clemson University username and password.
