WinRAR is site licensed for all current faculty, staff, and enrolled students of Clemson University. Please do not distribute this software to users outside these groups.

License Information

This product is generally distributed as a standalone site license. This means any Clemson user may use this software.

Versions of this software are available on: Windows. You may have to check with the vendor about the availability of other versions.

Purchasing WinRAR

Licenses for this software are available without purchase if you meet any license restrictions.

Install Media - How to Access WinRAR

Installing On Windows

  • Option 1: Students can download and install Company Portal here. WinRAR will be available in the list of installable applications once Company Portal is installed and has initialized. Note: The initialization process can take some time and will continue in the background once Company Portal is launched. Applications will show up in the list of available software as this background initialization proceeds.
  • Option 2: All users can open Windows Explorer (My Computer) and copy \\software.clemson.edu\software\WinRAR into the address bar. If prompted for a username and password, try "campus\username" (no quotes; note the backslash), where username is your Clemson University username. Use your Clemson password. Once connected, check the Documentation folder for additional installation information, like license server names and port numbers. Note: If you are off campus, you will have to be logged into VPN before you will be able to connect to the Software Repository.
